As A Graduate Student (2021): Named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team... Selected for the USILA Senior All-Star Game... Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team... Finished second on the team in goals (19), assists (8), and points (27)... Was named BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week after a season-high five points at Hofstra (Feb. 13)... Ranks second in program history with 121 goals and fifth on the all-time points list (159).
As A Senior (2020): Started in all seven games for the Red Storm … Led the Johnnies in assists (9) … Finished second on the team in goals scored (18) and points (27) … Scored in all seven games for the Johnnies last season ... Registered hat tricks in four of the seven games this season ... Madsen’s 27 points 18 goals in 2020 ranked fifth in BIG EAST ... At Locust Valley: During high school Joe played box lacrosse for Team 91 and Pro Box Lacrosse. As a junior, Joe was selected to play for a U18 US box lacrosse team (USBOXLA) that toured Canada playing teams in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a sophomore Joe helped his high school team win a county championship for the first time in school history. As a senior Joe helped his team to an undefeated regular season, also a first in school history.
Personal: Son of Joseph and Eleanor Madsen … has four siblings: twin brother Mike, and brothers Chris, Anthony and John, both his parents attended St. John’s, enjoys playing the guitar.
