As A Freshman (2008): Played in six games ... made his collegiate debut at league foe Georgetown (March 1) ... collected one ground ball and went 2-for-3 in face-offs ... took another draw against Loyola (March 15), going 0-for-1 ... went 1-for-1 at Hobart (April 19) and also scooped up a ground ball ... went 0-for-1 at the X at topranked Duke (May 4) ... tallied a third ground ball against Fairfield (April 26).
Before St. John[apos]s: Lettered four years in lacrosse at Minnetonka High School ... captained the team for both his junior and senior years ... earned all-state and allconference honors for threestraight seasons (2005-07) ... also earned a high school All-America nod ... played club lacrosse for the Minnesota Elite for two seasons ... lettered in football and hockey for Minnetonka ... earned the Hobey Backer Award for the best defensive forward as a center for the Tonka[apos]s hockey team as well as earned the Minnetonka football and hockey teams were runners-up at the state championships in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
Off The Field: Eric Westin Schmit ...son of Robin Westin and Michael Robert Schmit ... is the oldest of three children ... his siblings are Brian (16) and Caitlin (13) ... a marketing major ... future plans include working on Wall Street ... enjoys fishing, hockey, football, golf, wakeboarding and wake surfing ... the most thrilling moment in his athletic career was playing in the Minnesota State hockey tournament ... plays wall ball and shoots as a typical pregame ritual ... plays country music on his iPod on game day ... counts the lacrosse field is his favorite place on campus.
