Miller On Gannon: 'Rob is an excellent right-handed off-ball threat. But he has really worked at being as much of a menace `with the ball[apos] as he is `off the ball.[apos] He is one of our best riders, and is a great ground ball guy. He is also our best off-ball threat on extra man opportunities. Gannon sets a great example with his effort.'
As A Junior In 2007: Played in 10 games ... tied for third on the team in man-up goals ... scored his first goal of the season against Hobart (April 21) on an extra-man opportunity halfway through the third quarter to give the Red Storm a10-9 lead ... his second goal of the season came the following weekend at Fairfield (April 29) to open up scoring in the fourth quarter ... totaled eight shots on goal for the season.
As A Sophomore In 2006: Fifth on the team in points with 13 ... started eight of 11 contests ... scored nine goals and dished two assists ... collected 21 groundballs ... took 24 of 35 shots on goal ... season best performances in the Hartford win with three goals and in the season opener against Robert Morris (Feb. 25) with two goals and one assist.
As A Freshman In 2005: Saw action in 13 contests, starting 12 ... connected for seven goals and had one assist for eight points ... took 24 shots, 16 shots on goal ... picked up 27 groundballs ... against Air Force (March 26) scored three goals and had one assist.
Before St. John[apos]s: Earned Nassau All-County honorable mention during his senior season at Schreiber High School ... named the Fran McCall Unsung Hero his junior year ... team captain as a senior and posted 21 goals, four assists and had 84 ground balls.
Off The Field: Born March 31, 1986, in Manhasset N.Y. ... son of Greg and Maria Gannon ... has one sister, Brittany (23) ... recipient of the annual John 'Pepe' Memorial Scholarship ... identifies his father Greg, who also attended St. John[apos]s University, as the most influential person in his athletic career ... enjoys golfing, fishing and boating ... a marketing major with plans to work in the financial market.
