Bio
As A Graduate Student (2021): Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team... Appeared and started in all 11 games for the Red Storm this season... Netted 13 goals for fourth best on the team... Dished out six assists which ranked sixth on the team. Tied his career-high of three goals twice at Hofstra and vs. Providence (Feb.13 & 21).
As A Senior (2020): Appeared in all seven games for the Red Storm ... Registered 16 points, third-most on the Red Storm … Scored 12 goals in seven games, tied third on the team … Registered five points, including his lone hat trick of the season in a 17-15 win over LIU (Feb. 22) ... Scored two goals in three of the seven games at Rutgers (Feb. 8), at Stony Brook (Feb. 11), and Siena (March 7).
As A Junior (2019): Appeared in all 14 games ... Registered five goals for the Red Storm … Scored a single goal in five games: vs. Rutgers, vs. Dartmouth, vs. UMass Lowell, vs. Stony Brook, at Villanova (Feb. 9, Mar. 19, Mar. 23, April 2, and April 20) … Registered two points in a win over Dartmouth (Mar. 19).
As A Sophomore (2018): Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team ... Appeared in all 14 games ... Made his lone start in the final regular season game versus Georgetown, in which he added a goal (Apr. 28) … Scored two goals in a winning effort over High Point (Feb. 24) … Registered two games with two points each versus Hartford and Siena … (Feb. 17 and Mar. 10).
As A Freshman (2017): Named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team ... Appeared in five games ... Fired two shots against Villanova (Apr. 22) ... Collected a groundball in his collegiate debut against Stony Brook (Feb. 19).
At Bellport: Played as a four year starter, two year captain at attack. Ryan is the all-time goal scoring leader at Bellport tallying 154 career goals with 40 assists. He scored over 40 goals in each of his sophomore, junior and senior years. Ryan was All-County selection senior year, All-County honorable mention junior year, All-Division in both junior and senior years. In 2014, Ryan was named to the Inside Lacrosse All-Tournament team, winning MVP for attack. He was a 2015 Dan Daly Cup participant, scoring five goals in a Suffolk County win over Nassau, 11-10. Ryan was named to top-100 lacrosse players list on Long Island for 2016 by Long Island Newsday.
Personal: Son of Henry and Christine Schaeffer … has one sister, Megan who attends Franklin Pierce … Megan plays lacrosse at Franklin Pierce and his father Henry played lacrosse for one year at Hofstra … favorite pro team is the Knicks.
