As a Junior in 2008: Honored as the 2008 recipient of St. John[apos]s Dr. Peter Vitulli Award for demonstrating courage, dedication and spirit of self-sacrifice in seeking to attain the highest ideals of sportsmanship ... used the year to strengthen and rehabilitate from ankle surgery.
As a Sophomore in 2007: Did not see game action due to an ankle injury.
As a Freshman in 2006: Saw valuable time on the diamond for the Red Storm ... had her first collegiate at bat against Fairleigh Dickinson on March 22 ... was slowed by an ankle injury.
Before St. John[apos]s: Earned three varsity letters as the left fielder for the Mater Dei Monarchs ... hit a sacrifice fly to plate the winning run at the 2005 Ramada Tournament of Champions, leading the team to a third place finish ... worked for a career-high .444 batting average during her senior season ... four-year Scholar Athlete Award recipient in high school ... played summer ball with the American Athletics.
Personal: Born in Santa Ana, Calif. ... parents are Mike and Robin ... chose St. John[apos]s because it offers a unique experience she would not find out west ... volunteered for numerous organizations including S.T.A.R., Habitat for Humanity, Midnight Run and the Breast Cancer Foundation ... made honor roll throughout her high school career ... volunteered for the Special Olympics for three years ... hospitality management major with a minor in business ... future plans include golf course and resort management.
