Grace Kramer enters her second season on the St. John's Softball coaching staff after joining in September 2019 to focus primarily on pitching. Kramer came on board as a volunteer assistant coach before being elevated to the position of assistant in January 2020.Â
Kramer's first season with the Red Storm was cut short due to COVID-19. The Johnnies finished 8-15, winning their last matchup of the season 3-2 over Fairleigh Dickinson on March 11.Â
Kramer is an experienced BIG EAST pitcher who boasted 27 wins, four saves and 380 strikeouts during her four-year career with St. John's. After making 17 appearances during the team's BIG EAST Championship run in 2015, Kramer emerged as a leader in the circle over the next two seasons, appearing in 55 games and earning 24 wins during that span, which included a conference regular season title in 2017. She also captured a trio of BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week awards along with four Weekly Honor Roll selections.
After graduating from St. John's with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and with the BIG EAST Institutional Scholar-Athlete Award following the 2017 season, Kramer pursued an MBA in International Business while serving as a graduate assistant in the Student-Athlete Development office at St. John’s. In addition to mentoring fellow Johnnies, she also worked as a marketing intern for ProHEALTH Dental Management.
Â
Following her master’s graduation in 2018, Kramer was promoted to Marketing Coordinator at ProHEALTH before taking assistant coaching duties at Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School this past season. As a member of the Crusaders coaching staff, Kramer assisted with day-to-day practice schedules and game plans while the program entered a new division with a higher level of play. In addition to her duties at McClancy, Kramer also worked with aspiring softball players as a private instructor for girls ages 6-17 over the last three years.
