Robinson is no stranger to coaching collegiate throwing events in the Tri-State Area. Before arriving in Queens, Robinson spent the nearly six years as a throws coach at Fairleigh Dickinson, Sacred Heart and Manhattan College.
"Coach Pompey continues to assemble a top-level staff and I'm excited to see their collective future successes with the addition of Coach Robinson," added St. John's Director of Athletics Mike Cragg. "To be sure, Coach Robinson places high value on the student-athlete and her college experience – looking for ways to motivate and inspire towards BIG EAST championships, success in the classroom and a strong commitment to the community. It's an exciting time for St. John's Track & Field."
During her time at Sacred Heart, Robinson guided three different throwers, both male and female, to athlete of the year honors in the Northeast Conference. Robinson also coached seven conference champions in the NEC during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Robinson is not just an accomplished coach, but also an accomplished track and field athlete in her own right. Robinson competed for two seasons at Western Kentucky where she still holds several top-five marks in the school's record book for multiple throwing events. Robinson also qualified for the Jamaican National Qualifiers while with the Hilltoppers.
"I am grateful to join St. John's coaching staff and athletic program," said Robinson. "Coach Pompey has an amazing vision for the women's track and field team, and I am excited to be a part of it."
