Womens Cross Country Take 4th at Metropolitan Championships

JAMAICA, N.Y. St. Johns womens cross country team placed 4th out of 11 teams with 135 points at the 2000 Metropolitan Cross Country Championships held this afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The men came in 9th out 13 teams with 250 points. Columbia won the womens title with 20 points while Fairleigh Dickinson won the mens division with 23 points.
The top finisher for the women was senior Dinah Mensah (Bronx, N.Y./Roosevelt HS) who placed 19th overall in a time of 19:39. Mensah was also the top finisher for the Red Storm at the Fordham Invitational and the National Catholic Championships.
The cross country teams return to action when they host the SJU Cross Country Invitational on Sunday, October 15 at Oakdale, N.Y.
