Two Volleyball Players Named to Prestigious President Society

Juniors Amanda Berg (DeKalb, IL) and Stephanie Luehr (Wood River, NE) were both named to the University's President Society, the highest honor given to a St. John's student. The President's Society, founded in 1968, honors those students who combine scholarship, integrity, maturity, and a well-rounded personality with University-wide awareness, participation and leadership demonstrated by their significant contribution to the extracurricular life of the University. Members of the President's Society are considered as part of the President's official staff and are designated by Fr. Donald J. Harrington, C.M. for special duties at University functions.In 98 games, Berg was second on the team in blocks with 88 (.90 per game), third in kills with 206 (2.10 per game) and fourth in assists with 27. She was also second on the team with a .254 hitting percentage. Berg is majoring in Communications with a minor in Sports Management currently carries a 3.54 GPA.A Speech Pathology and Audiology major, with a minor in Education, Luehr played in 95 games and was sixth on the team with 133 digs (1.40 per game). Luehr carries a 3.64 GPA.
