HOFSTRA TOPS SJU VOLLEYBALL IN FOUR

The victory was the second in a row for Hofstra, which improved to 3-5, while St. John's dropped its second straight, falling to 6-2 on the season.
Senior Olga Roudovski (Brooklyn, N.Y./Sheepshead Bay) led the Storm with 20 kills and 12 digs, while junior Kristy Mercein (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) hit .406 with 18 kills and a team-high 22 digs. Freshman Rosalyn Dang (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) hit a team-high .452 with a career-high 16 kills and eight digs. Classmate Robyn Kurasaki (Milliani, Hawaii/Maryknoll), who was named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week yesterday, assisted on 54 kills and chipped in eight digs.
The Storm will be back in action tomorrow, September 13, when they travel to Fairfield, Conn. to face Sacred Heart for a non-conference match at 7:00.
