The victory boosted the Trojans' record to 6-2 on the season, while the Storm fell to 7-3.
Senior Olga Roudovski (Brooklyn, N.Y./Sheepshead Bay) had another solid match for St. John's with 15 kills, marking the ninth time in 10 matches that she has reached double figures in kills. Junior Kristy Mercein (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) played a scrappy defensive game with a match-high 14 digs. She leads the team with 116 on the season. Freshman Rosalyn Dang (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou) put in a fine all-around effort with seven kills, seven digs, three assists and one service ace. Dang leads St. John's with 15 aces in 38 games.
Beginning on Saturday, September 16, the Red Storm will play their next 10 matches on the road over the next three weeks. The road trips include a pair of tournaments, one this weekend at Wagner and one next weekend at Dartmouth. This weekend, St. John's will take on Duquesne at 5:00 on Saturday and Lehigh and Wagner on Sunday at 5:00 and 8:00, respectively.
