Track & Field Competes at Last Chance Qualifiers

In the 60m dash, a race which contained sprinters from Georgia Tech, Clemson and UNC, Tiehise Shell placed 13th in a time of 7.79.
Dinah Mensah took 10th place in the 200m and qualified for the ECACs with a 2:11.72 mark.
Nicol Corsey and Tiffany Barnes finished 11th and 14th, respectively in the 400m. Corsey posted a 56.0 and Barnes a 56.46, both ECAC qualifying times.
The womens 4x400m relay team placed second in a time of 3:43.74.
For the men, George Maringapasi took fourth place in the high jump with an IC4A qualifying mark of 609.00 mark.
At Seton Halls Last Chance Qualifier, Lynn Medjuck, SJUs lone women representative, placed first in the mile run in a time of 5:25.11.
For the men, Matt Cotter took second place in the 1,000m, posting a 2:31.36, just outside the IC4A qualifying mark.
Dietrech Washington won the high jump competition with a 2.03 mark. In the mens mile, Pete Alfano placed third with a time of 4:36.62.
Teammates Andy Mitchell and Greg Mason tied in the 800m, both finishing in a time of 2:00.17. The time was good for eighth place overall.
The Red Storm will travel to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass. this weekend for the ECAC/IC4A Championships. Nine women and one relay team will be competing in the ECAC championship. Four men and two relays are headed to the IC4A Championships.
