Fowler, originally from Milwaukee, Wisc., is a 6-3 forward from Kirkwood Community College, a Division II school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Over the past two seasons, Fowler has led her squad to a combined record of 54-12. Last season, Fowler was sixth on the team in scoring with a 5.9 average, third on the squad in rebounding averaging 5.1 boards per game and led the team in blocks with 1.4 per contest. Creasie will enable us to have more mobility in the post, said Estep. Her presence will enhance our defensive mentality with her ability to block shots. She is a big player who will be able to score around the basket.
Rainey, a 5-9 guard, is a two-time first-team all-state selection who led the state of California in scoring the past two years. She averages over 24 points per game in addition to grabbing 8.6 rebounds per game. Rainey was the Orange Coast Conference Most Valuable Player and was a first team all-Orange Coast Conference pick last season. Danielle will help us in a weak area from last season: putting points on the board, said Estep. She is a flat-out scorer.
Rawson led South Suburban to back-to-back Region 4 Championships and two National Tournament appearances. A power forward who averaged 12.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in her two-year stint, Rawson was the Most Valuable Player of the Region 4 Tournament last season. Amanda will bring us a power forward mentality, said Estep. She is a wide body who moves well around the basket. She enjoys physical play and will bring a different dimension to our team.
Fowler, Rainey and Rawson join two other JUCO players, Katalin Kurtosi and Reka Szavuly from Colby Community College in Colby, Kans., and incoming freshman Mary Pat Statler from Oak Glen High School in New Cumberland, W.V., who signed during the early signing period.
