Baton Rouge, La.Senior Sheba George (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished 16th in the hammer throw at the 2002 NCAA Championships being held at LSU. Her throw of 1824 is good enough for seventh place on the SJU All Time list.
George set a new St. Johns record early this season in the hammer throw at the BIG EAST Championships with a toss of 1931. She currently holds four of the top-10 all time SJU marks in the hammer throw event.
Coach Jim Hurt has nothing but praise for George, She has been an incredible athlete and person to be around. Sheba is one of the most talented multi-throwers I have ever been around and has continued the long tradition of St. Johns womens throwers.
