Zinno Named Assistant Women' Track and Field Coach

Zinno has been the men?s track and field head coach for the last 30 years, while adding the job as the women?s head coach in 1979 when he began the program. While at NYIT, he gained the reputation as one of the top track and field coaches in the area. Twenty-seven of his student-athletes have earned individuals Division II National Collegiate Athletic Association championships, while over 300 have been selected as Division II NCAA All-Americans. As a team, his men?s teams have finished in the top-three at the NCAA Championships three times, while the women have completed that feat twice.
Internationally, Zinno?s student-athletes have won medals in every major competition, including the Olympics, the Goodwill Games and the World Championships.
Along with being added to the St. John?s staff, Zinno was recently named as the head manager for Team USA at the 2004 Indoor World Championships being held in Budapest, Hungary. As head manager, he will assist in coaching, along with acting as the chief administrator of the athletics delegation. Over his international coaching career, Zinno has also been a two-time assistant for the U.S. National Team and the Jamaican Team at the World University Games.
