Cross Country Competes at the Metropolitan Championships

Bronx, NY - The St. John's women's cross country team participated in the New York Metropolitan Championships this afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
Freshman Jodey Johnson was the Red Storm's top finisher, crossing the line with a time of 21:01 in the 5k event. Johnson was one of two St. John's runners to finish in the top-75, joined by junior Aja Williams who finished at 21:22.
Rounding out the top five St. John's finishers were junior Jasmine Barreto at 21:53, Tara Normandin at 22:27 and senior Kathleen Maher, who finished with a time of 22:34.
Also competing in the event for the Red Storm were junior Dominique Ficolora, who ran a 23:47 and sophomore Ann Wainscott who finished in 24:04.
The Red Storm are back in action on Sunday, October 17 when they host the St. John's Cross Country Fall Festival on the Oakdale Campus.
