Cross Country Competes at BIG EAST Championships

Queens, NY (October 29, 2004) - The St. John's University women's cross country team competed in the BIG EAST Championships today at Franklin Park in Boston, MA. The Red Storm placed 12th overall, with 383 total points in the 6,000m run.
Providence runner Kim Smith crossed the line first setting a new BIG EAST record at 19.23 and led the Friars to capture the team Championship.
Freshman Jodey Johnson led the Red Storm placing 86th with a time of 24.30 while sophomore Jasmine Barreto finished close behind at 25.00 for 91st place.
The St. John's women's cross country team returns to action on November 13 when they will compete at the NCAA Regional's at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, NY.
