Red Storm Competes in First Day of Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. - The St. John's University track and field team competed in the first day of the Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania today. The remainder of the events will take place tomorrow and Saturday at Franklin Field.
The Red Storm was lead by the 4x100 relay team that placed 21 out of 80 teams with a time of 46.84. The team finished fourth in their heat and will compete in the ECAC division championships tomorrow at 12:45 p.m. The 4x400 team placed fifth in their heat with a time of 3:49.28 and will be an alternate for the ECAC division championships on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
In the field events, junior Brandy Bradford finished 13th in the discus with a distance of 43.67m. Sophia Bazile placed 26th in the Eastern long jump at 16-10.75 (5.15m).
The Red Storm will compete Friday and Saturday in the remainder of the events at the Penn Relays, one of the largest track and field meets in the country.
