Red Storm Hosts Monday Meeting II

Queens, N.Y.-The St. Johns University track and field team hosted the Monday Meeting II today at DaSilva Memorial Field. The meet, originally scheduled for April 26th, featured teams from the Metropolitan area such as Queensborough CC, York, Farmingdale and Essex CC.
Senior Denise Raab led the Red Storm, finishing first in the 100m hurdles at 16.11. Taniesha Lewis and Erin Willis finished in the 100m at 12.84 (second place) and 12.86 (third), respectively. The 4x800 m relay team finished in second place with a time of 9:22.95.
Senior Sophie Sylvain finished in second place in the long jump with a distance of 16'5 1/2". In the distance events sophomore Shamere McKenzie finished third place in the 1500m at 5:32.05. Dominique Ficalora finished shortly after at 6:08.54.
The Red Storm returns to action this weekend when they will travel to Rutgers University for the BIG EAST Championships.
