Davis, Williams Set Personal Best at ECAC Championships

New Haven, Conn.-The St. John's University track and field team participated in the ECAC Championships today at Yale University in New Haven, Conn. The remainder of events will be held tomorrow, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Senior Shernette Davis led the Red Storm placing first in both the 100m and 200m preliminaries today and will compete for the title tomorrow afternoon. Davis set a season best time in the 100m at 11.66 and finished at 24.05 in the 200m. Judy Williams also competed in the 100m and set a season best time, finishing at 11.92, which qualified her for the championship tomorrow. The Red Storm 4x100m relay team also qualified for the championships tomorrow, placing eighth at 47.04.
The Red Storm throwing unit was lead by Grace Zollman who finished seventh in the javelin throw at a distance of 42.27m. Blessing Egwu competed in the hammer throw and placed eighth at 53.62m.
The St. John's track and field team will return to Yale University tomorrow to compete in the last day of the ECAC Championships in New Haven, Conn.
