Track and Field Competes at Princeton Quad

Princeton, NJ (January 8, 2004) - The St. John's University track and field team competed at the Princeton Quad on Saturday which featured the Red Storm, Rutgers and host Princeton.
Sophomore Kellie Brown (Upper Darby, PA) led the Red Storm, winning both the long jump (5.44m) and triple jump (10.93m) events for St. John's. Senior Sophia Bazile (Nyack, NY) also showed an outstanding performance in the triple jump, placing second at 10.91m.
Graduate Student Kerrian Stewart (Kingston, Jamaica) qualified for the BIG EAST and ECAC Indoor Championships with her 25.11 performance in the 200m, placing second. Stewart also placed second in the 60m with a time of 7.74m.
Blessing Egwu (Queens, NY) led the Red Storm throwing unit finishing in first place in the weight throw with a distance of 19.39m. Judy Owens (Brooklyn, NY) rounded out the top three in the same event with a throw of 16.39m.
The Red Storm returns to action Saturday, January 22, when they will travel back to Jadwin Gymnasium for the Princeton Relays in Princeton, NJ.
