Track Competes at New York Road Races

New York, NY (February 10, 2005) - Several members of the St. John's University women's track and field team competed at the New York Road Races held at Madison Square Garden last night.
Junior Thamara Cherisme qualified for the BIG EAST Championships with her 27.15 time in the 200m. In other mid-distance events, Jodey Johnson (2:21.23) and Aja Williams (2:23.86) ran a competitive 800m.
In the distance events, sophomore Shelby Mix led the Red Storm with her 5:47.3 mile and was followed closely behind by freshman Tara Normandin at 6:04.5.
The Red Storm returns to action on February 11 and 12 when they will travel to Boston, MA to compete in the St. Valentine's Invitational at the BU Armory.
