Tom Michaelsen Named ECAC Rookie of the Week

April 25, 2005, Queens, NY - Men's lacrosse player Tom Michaelsen (Bethpage, NY) was named ECAC Rookie of the Week by league officials this afternoon. Goalie Dave Saccente (Lake Grove, NY) was also recognized by being named to the ECAC Honor Roll.
This is the second time this season that Michaelsen has received Rookie of the Week honors, the first sharing the award with Shane Koppens of Loyola on March 28. This is the first time Saccente has been named to the Honor Roll this season.
Against Hobart on April 23, Michaelsen recorded a game-high and career-high six points with three goals and three assists against a strong Hobart defense. Michaelsen is currently first in points with 24 and has a .696 shot on goal percentage for the Red Storm his season.
Saccente notched a game-high 17 saves against Hobart, which was his third straight game with 17 or more stops this season. He currently has 109 saves on the season, with a .599 save percentage and leads the ECAC with 16.80 saves per conference game.
The Red Storm returns to action this Saturday, April 30 when they will travel to Newark, DE to take on the University of Delaware for the last game of the season. Face-off is set for 7 p.m.
