Track and Field Competes at ECAC Championships

Saturday, May 14, 2005 - Several members of the St. John's University women's track and field team competed in the highly competitive 2005 ECAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday at Princeton University in Princeton, NJ.
Graduate Student Kerrian Stewart placed first in both the preliminaries and the semi-finals of the 100m, recording her best time of the meet at 11.66. Stewart also placed first in the 200m preliminaries with a time of 23.73 and will compete for both titles Sunday afternoon. Kay-Dian Reid also performed well for the Red Storm in the 400m, recording a time of 56.15.
Blessing Egwu, who is coming off a first place finish at the BIG EAST Championships last weekend, placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 57.17 meters.
The Red Storm returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, May 15, to compete in the last day of the 2005 ECAC Outdoor Championships in Princeton, NJ.
