Patti Hardimon Named BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week

Red Storm volleyball outside hitter Patti Hardimon was named this week's BIG EAST Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. The honor comes on the heels of St. John's victories over BIG EAST foes Louisville and Cincinnati this weekend.
The senior tri-captain from Honolulu, Hawaii, posted back-to-back double-doubles this weekend for her 16th and 17th of her career. Against the Cardinals, she recorded a match-high 18 kills and 10 digs, while tying her career-high six service aces. In the match against the Bearcats, Hardimon registered 14 kills and tied her personal-best 22 digs.
Hardimon is first on the team averaging 3.63 kills per game (225). She has tallied 27 service aces and averages 3.23 digs per game, which places her second on the squad in both categories. In the conference, Hardimon ranks seventh in service aces.
The Red Storm has an overall record of 19-1 and is undefeated in BIG EAST action with a 4-0 mark. Hardimon and St. John???s returns to action on Friday, Oct. 6, against the Pirates of Seton Hall. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m., in Carnesecca Arena.
