Hardimon Named To BIG EAST Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll

Senior outside hitter Patti Hardimon received BIG EAST weekly honor roll accolades for the first week of the season, the conference announced Monday. The honor comes on the heels of the Red Storm???s victories at the Fairfield Volleyball Invitational and Hardimon???s Most Valuable Player honors.
Hardimon was instrumental in leading St. John???s to sweeps against the University of New Hampshire, Bucknell and host-school Fairfield at last weekend???s invitational. The tri-captain from Honolulu, Hawaii, posted a double-double in the first match of the season with 13 kills and 12 digs against New Hampshire. She also recorded double-digit match-high kills in the Red Storm???s two other contests this weekend, posting 12 against Bucknell and 17 against Fairfield. For the week, Hardimon averaged 4.67 kills and 2.67 digs per game while hitting .292.
Hardimon currently leads St. John???s in kills (42) and service aces (6), and is fourth in digs (24). In the BIG EAST, she is ranked third overall in kills per game and is eighth in aces per game.
St. John???s is 3-0 on the season. When compared with other conference schools, St. John???s is ranked first in kills per game with 17.78 and second in both hitting percentage (.305) and assists (15.78 per game).
Hardimon and the Red Storm return to action on Friday, Sept. 1, against the Air Force Falcons in the first match of the William & Mary Invitational. First serve is slated for 5 p.m.
