Women's Soccer Earns Postseason Academic Honors

Red Storm women's soccer players Jaime Beran, Erin Bohn and Julianna Cohen were named honorable mention selections to the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA)/adidas College Women's Scholar All-East Region Team, the organization announced.
St. John's enjoyed an extremely successful season, finishing with a 10-5-4 record including a school-record total of five BIG EAST Conference wins. After winning its first round game in the 2006 BIG EAST Tournament, the Red Storm fell in the quarterfinals to the runner-up of the national championship, Notre Dame. Following the season, head coach Ian Stone was named the conference's Coach of the Year.
Beran started 19 games in goal for St. John's, posting an impressive eight shutouts. Bohn, a midfielder, started 19 games and scored two goals, while Cohen, a defender, was an anchor of the Red Storm defense while adding a goal and an assist on the year.
Off the field, Cohen boasts a 3.89 grade point average while majoring in education. Beran, meanwhile, has a 3.45 gpa and is majoring in government and politics, while Bohn has a 3.37 gpa and majors in business.
