St. John's Cross Country Competes At NCAA Northeast Regional

BOSTON, Mass. - With seven athletes competing, the St. John's women's cross country team finished 33rd at the 2007 NCAA Northeast Regional Qualifying Championships, hosted by Harvard University on Saturday.
With 888 points, the Red Storm was one of four BIG EAST teams competing in the 6K event. Providence, Stony Brook and Boston College were the top three teams respectively, 36 teams competed in Saturday's event.
BIG EAST squads Syracuse and Connecticut also competed in the meet, finishing fourth and seventeenth.
For her fifth straight meet, junior Tyneka Greene crossed the tape first for the Red Storm with a time of 23:06.35 in 118th place. Freshmen Sarah Sudbury and Lori Dougherty followed Greene in 157th and 192nd place, respectively.
Sarah Fry, Kayla Regulski, Laura Walsh and Rakibat Abiola also competed in Saturday's Northeast Regional.
Next up, the Red Storm will compete in the ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 17. Race time to be announced.
