Kia Wright Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's women's basketball player Kia Wright has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
The senior led the team to a 97-56 win over Morgan State on Sunday, posting a team-high 26 points en route to her first 20-point scoring effort of the season. She shot 9-of-12 from the field for a 75.0 average and tallied 16 points in the first half alone. The senior was perfect from the 3-point arc, going 6-for-6 to tie the single game record in 3-point field goal percentage (1.000), while tying for third in 3-pointers made in a contest.
In addition, she helped the team set the program record with 14 3-pointers in the game, surpassing the previous total of 12 set on Jan. 6, 2001. With her scoring performance, the Copiague, N.Y., native climbed into seventh place in the all-time scoring list with 1,296 points and moved into third place with 111 career 3-pointers made. She also paced the way with six assists and two steals.
