Men??' Golf Takes Second At William & Mary Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. ??? The St. John???s men???s golf team finished in second place at the William & Mary Invitational and was just three strokes shy of the championship title, posting a 578.
Rookie Dan Mollicone was the top scorer for the Red Storm as he finished at even par 142. He tied for third place overall. Fellow freshman Mike Ballo Jr. was the second low scorer for St. John???s as he shot a 74 in round two and carded a two-over par 144 overall.
???I???m really excited that Mike and I could contribute to this win since we are only freshman,??? said Mollicone. ???I feel like the whole team is really playing well together and we feel good heading into our last couple of tournaments.???
Senior George Zolotas was even par on the green in round two and finished right out side the top ten, tying for 11th with a 145. Keegan Bradley and Kevin Velardo recorded a 151 and 153, respectively.
The Red Storm???s feat of finishing second out of the field of 21 teams at the Invitational once again puts them in good position to qualify for the 2007 NCAA Men???s Golf Tournament.
