All of this weekend's action at the NCAA Myrtle Beach Regional will be broadcast to a national audience by ESPNU, which can be found on DirecTV channel 609, the network announced on Monday. No. 3 seed St. John's joins No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina, No. 2 Clemson and No. 4 Virginia Commonwealth in the regional's four-team field.
Tickets for the Myrtle Beach Regional are $60 for an all-tournament pass in the reserved section and $50 for an all-tournament pass in the general admission seats. Tickets for individual games are $15 for reserved seats and $10 for general admission.
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans' box office will handle all requests for tickets to the regional. Fans from outside the Myrtle Beach area can call toll free at (877) 918-TIXX (8499). Tickets will also be available online at the official website of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, www.MyrtleBeachPelicans.com, within the next few days.
St. John's takes on Clemson at noon in the first game on Friday, while Coastal Carolina and VCU are slated to play at 4 p.m. CCU hosts the regional at Coastal Federal Field and earns the No. 1 seed after winning the Big South regular season and tournament titles. The Chanticleers take on Colonial Athletic Association Tournament champion, VCU, in Friday's other pairing.
St. John's eclipsed the 40-win mark for the third consecutive season in 2007, posting a 40-17 overall record and a 20-7 mark in the BIG EAST. The Red Storm won the BIG EAST regular season crown for the second time in three seasons and earned the No. 1 seed for last week's BIG EAST Championship in Brooklyn. St. John's finished the tournament with a 1-2 record, as Rutgers went on to defeat Connecticut, 8-7, to lay claim to the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
