Four Golfers Receive NGCA All-American Scholar Honors

Junior golfer Brittany Lambertson along with freshmen Ashley Szewczuk, Renee Cloutier and Samantha Tejada were selected to the 2006-07 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar team.
The NGCA announced the roster on July 9 with 368 women???s collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. Each golfer selected to the All-American Scholar team competed in at least 50 percent of the team???s regularly scheduled competition and earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50.
Lambertson, a childhood education major, earned the Red Storm???s team MVP award as she led St. John???s young squad of golfers as the low scorer in all but two events. Lambertson won her first championship of the spring at the Roar-ee Invitational.
Undecided majors Cloutier and Tejada finished tied for 26th at the BIG EAST Championships this spring. Cloutier highlighted her season with a sixth place finish at the Treasure Coast Classic. Tejada also finished in the top 20 with a 14th place finish, carding a 232 (74-82-76).
Szewczuk, a psychology major from Chalfont, Pa., earned the second highest team score at the Hoya Women???s Invitational, tied for 27 with an overall score of 161.
