Red Storm Closes Out Homestand Hosting No. 19 Pitt

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's basketball team concludes its two-game homestand on Tuesday when it welcomes BIG EAST rival No. 19 Pittsburgh to Carnesecca Arena. Tip-off is slated for 7:05 p.m.
• The game will feature live stats and will have video and audio streamed on the internet. Fans can go to RedStormSports.com to access both features. Streaming will be subscription-based through "StormTracker All-Access." The cost for the service is either $9.95 per month or $79.95 for the year. Live stats will be free the entire season.
• The contest with Pittsburgh marks the third-straight ranked opponent that the Red Storm has faced. St. John's is coming off a loss to West Virginia, 68-44, on Saturday afternoon. The Red Storm played the No. 14 Mountaineers tough in the first half, coming within three points of WVU at the break, 35-32. The Red Storm was one point away from tying the game at the beginning of the second half, but the Mountaineers pulled away for the win. The Panthers (14-3, 4-0 BIG EAST) are coming off an 81-61 win over Providence on Saturday, which extends Pitt's win streak to eight.
• St. John's and Pittsburgh meet up for the 45th time in history. The Red Storm has controlled the series, posting a record of 30-14 against the Panthers. In addition to winning the last six meetings, St. John's has dominated at home with a 16-4 record in New York.
• In last season's meeting between the teams, the Red Storm pulled off a huge upset and defeated the then-No. 23 Panthers, 76-69, at the Peterson Events Center. Kia Wright led all players with 23 points and 10 assists as St. John's won its first conference game of the season.
