QUEENS, N.Y. -
- With the win, the St. John's women's basketball team advanced to the fourth round of the WNIT for the first time in the program's history. The team will take on the Wolfpack of North Carolina State on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C.
- Junior Monique McLean posted her third double-double of the season with a 21-point, 10-rebound effort. She notched her second-straight 20-plus scoring effort, giving her a total of nine on the season. It was also just her fourth double-digit rebounding effort of the year. McLean also had three assists, three steals and one blocked shot.
- In what might be her last game ever at Carnesecca Arena, senior Kia Wright turned in a 15-point, five-rebound effort. She also had three assists and three steals. Wright has scored in double-figures in 18 games.
- The Red Storm won its 16th game of the season when taking a lead into the half. The team led the Eagles, 39-25, after the first stanza.
- Sophomore Recee Mitchell notched 10 points for her fourth double-digit scoring effort of the season.
- With two 3-pointers, junior Kelly McManmon notched her 23rd consecutive game with at least one trey. She has had multiple 3's in 18 games this year.
- Tiina Sten matched her career high with four blocks tonight. She now sits alone in fifth place in the St. John's all-time career record list with 96 swats.
