Red Storm Finishes Eighth At Roar-ee Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's women's golf team traveled to Mamaroneck, N.Y. to compete in the Roar-ee Invitational at the par 71, 5,833 yard, Hampshire Country Club. The Red Strom improved its team score every day and finished eighth overall for the tournament with a 160-over 1012 (349, 334, 329).
The Red Storm was led by sophomore Lois Kim who placed 14th with a 34-over 247 (84, 81, 82). This was one of Kim's best performances this year as she has been and more consistent since returning from an injury which limited her to start the season.
Senior Brittany Lambertson had a tough round one (93) but rebounded well, scoring a 79 in the second round. Lambertson finished the event tied for 25th with a 40-over 253 (93, 79, 81). Her second round score was ninth best of the day.
Sophomore's Renee Cloutier and Ashley Szewczuk also played well for the Red Storm. Cloutier finished in 39th place with a 45-over 258 (91, 84, 83). Szewczuk finished two strokes behind Cloutier and placed in a tie for 40th with a 47-over 260 (87, 90, 83).
Up next, St. John's will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in the BIG EAST Championship. The event will take place on April 20-22 at the Elks Run golf course.
