The 2007 season was the best in program history as the Red Storm finished with a 33-4 record and reached the regional semifinal round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever. Under Persico-Smith's leadership, the team won its second consecutive BIG EAST regular season title and its first BIG EAST Championship.
