Hebron, Ky. - The St. John's men's golf team (29-over, 823) held strong on the final day of the BIG EAST Championship to take fifth place. The Red Storm was paced by senior co-captain Keegan Bradley who finished in second place with an even-par, 216.
"Keegan [Bradley] played great for us as he has all year," said head coach Frank Darby. "We had a good finish to the year and now hope for the best for our team and players."
St. John's took hold of fifth place on day one and never relinquished the spot. The team round scores of 300, 300 and 293 helped the Red Storm secure its third consecutive top-five finish in a row and its fourth of the year.
Bradley again paced the Red Storm, capping off a phenomenal season with an excellent streak of three wins and two second place finishes in his last five events. The All-America candidate will now wait to hear if he is selected to the NCAA East Regional.
"I was really happy to play well," said Bradley. "I have had a great four years here and it is sad to have played my last tournament for St. John's."
Sophomore Evan Beirne had a great tournament for the Red Storm as well, capturing a 13th-place finish. The second-year transfer from SMU fired a final round 70 to finish the event with a five-over, 221.
The Red Storm will now head back to Queens in anticipation of participants in the NCAA East Regional, held at the Council Fire Golf Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. on May 15-17.
