"We've got some great venues and some warm weather ahead of us," 15th-year head coach Frank Darby said. "We'll be playing on some great golf courses and in some good tournament fields this coming spring. We look forward to playing well and advancing to the NCAA East Regional."
The Red Storm opens the spring schedule as the host of the Treasure Coast Classic from March 1-3 at Indian Hills Golf Course in Fort Pierce, Fla. After that, St. John's hosts a pair of tournaments during spring break. From March 8-10, STJ will compete under the sunny skies of Humacao, Puerto Rico, as the host of the Palmas Del Mar Invitational for the third-straight year. From March 12-14, the team returns to Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., to host the Spring Fling tournament at Mission Inn Resort & Club's El Campéon Golf Course. From March 22-23, St. John's road swing takes a turn to Jacksonville, Ala., as the team will compete in the Grub Mart Invitational hosted by Jacksonville State at Silver Lakes Golf Course. The Red Storm returns to the Northeast to play in the Princeton Invitational from April 10-11 at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J.
The 2010 BIG EAST Championship will be held at the Copperhead Course of Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Innisbrook, Fla., from April 18-20.
The Red Storm has its sights set on May and June. The NCAA East Regional will be held from May 20-22 at The Yale University Golf Course in New Haven, Conn. The NCAA Championships will be held June 1-6 on The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.
St. John's is coming off of a fall season in which the team posted top-five finishes in The McLaughlin and the Mission Inn Intercollegiate.
