TEAM NOTES
In their two victories this season St. John's has recorded an average margin of victory of 20.5 points.
The 34 points for Wagner was the lowest total for a St. John's opponent since the Red Storm held Cincinnati to 34 points on January 18, 2011.
St. John's held Wagner to just 16 first half points marking the second time the Red Storm has held an opponent under 20 points in the first period of play this season.
The Red Storm are 2-0 when holding their opponents to under 20 points in the first half.
The Red Storm outscored the Seahawks in all specialty stats, including: points in the paint (26-18), points off turnovers (23-2), second chance points (12-5), fast break points (10-0) and bench points (11-7).
St. John's did not allow a single fast-break point for the first time since Feb. 1, 2011 against Rutgers.
The Red Storm tallied 15+ steals for the first time since recording 18 steals on Dec. 18, 2010 against Southern Mississippi.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Junior Shenneika Smith stretched her double-figure scoring streak to four games with her 16-point performance on 7-of-17 shooting.
St. John's is 1-0 this season with Smith as the team leader.
Junior Nadirah McKenith scored 15 points against the Seahawks on a perfect 6-of-6 from the field.
In the last two home games McKenith is averaging 11 points in the first half and is 10-of-10 from the field during first period play.
Freshman Mallory Jones saw her first action as a member of the Red Storm as she added her first-career three-pointer late in the contest.
Freshman Amber Thompson led the team in rebounds for the second time this season with eight.
Sophomore Briana Brown scored her first points of the season as she totaled four points against the Seahawks.
Sophomore Mary Nwachukwu set a career-high in steals with three.
