FORT MYERS, Fla. - The St. John's softball team's game against Tennessee-Martin originally scheduled for 9 a.m. on Sunday has been rain delayed. The Red Storm is also scheduled to play Stevens Industries FGCU Tournament host FGCU at 1:30 p.m.
The Red Storm (6-11) went 1-1 on Saturday, its first day in the Stevens Industries FGCU Tournament. STJ toppled St. Francis (Pa.), 11-3, in six frames as Chrissy Montez, Jackie Reed and Myriah Rodgers hit home runs to back Aleshia Link's strong pitching performance. St. John's mounted a late comeback, but fell to Colgate, 2-1.
Chelsea Durning is hitting .625 (5-of-8) so far in the tournament with one RBI, one double and three runs. Montez is batting .600 (3-of-5) with one homer, four RBI, two runs, three walks and one stolen base. Fachon Jones is hitting .429 (3-of-7) with one RBI, two runs and won stolen base.
