Red Storm Open Spring Season At Snowman Invitational

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Red Storm men's golf team will begin its spring season at the Snowman Invitational in Goodyear, Ariz. at the Palm Valley Golf Club. The team will play in the first of five events before the BIG EAST Championships in May.
In the spring, the Red Storm will be lead by junior Pat Wilson, who posted a 72.36 scoring average in the fall. Sophomore Ryan McCormick averaged 73.29 through the fall, while senior Mark Costanza--playing in his last semester at STJ--had a 74.14 average during St. John's five fall events.
This semester, head coach Frank Darby welcomed the addition of freshman Mitchell Hadfield to the Red Storm squad. Hadfield is expected to contribute immediately after coming to Queens from the same golf club as former world No. 1 Lee Westwood.
Palm Valley is a 7,015-yard, par 72 yard course for the two day tournament. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, and finish with another 18 on Tuesday.
Competing in this year's Snowman Invitational are: Washington State as well as Bradley, British Columbia, Gonzaga, Loyola (Md.), Missouri State, UMKC, UNC Greensboro, North Dakota, St. Bonaventure, St. John's, Seattle, South Dakota, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Utah State and Utah Valley. Individuals from Arizona State, UCLA and Western Texas College will also compete. Live Stats will be available on Golfstat.com.
