Ashley Perez Leaves St. John's Women's Basketball Team

QUEENS, N.Y. – Red Storm head women’s basketball coach Joe Tartamella announced that sophomore guard Ashley Perez will transfer at the conclusion of the Fall 2013 semester.
“We appreciate Ashley’s contributions to the St. John’s women’s basketball program. She has been a valuable member of our team and we wish her all the best in the future,” stated Tartamella.
Perez averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 29 games, six starts, during her St. John’s career. As a starting guard this season, the Manchester, Conn., native averaged 6.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. The sophomore recorded her first-career double-double with a 15-point and 13-rebound performance in a win against Sacred Heart to open the 2013-14 season.
