ERIN, Wis. - The St. John's men's golf team finished in 10th place among a competitive field at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate on Tuesday, carding a 297 (+9) in the final round to take a three-round total of 917 (+53) in the event.
Leading the way for the Red Storm was senior Obe Ayton who was able to card four birdies, including a two-under back-nine performance, to finish with a two-under round of 70 to tie for seventh overall.
After a birdie on hole one, senior Ben Ludlam was able to match his first-round total of 75 (+3) to tie for 21st overall with a 223 (+7).
Fellow senior Dylan Crowley was able to bounce back after a tough first two rounds, carding an even-par 72 to finish 59th with a 237 (+21).
Rounding out the team's four-man total was sophomore Sean Byrne who improved two strokes in the final round to tie with freshman Jacob Henny for 64th overall with a 244 (+28).
The Red Storm will return to action on Oct. 20 as it heads to California for the 2014 Bill Cullum Invitational.

The Erin Hills Intercollegiate hosted a field of 11 teams: Colorado State, Grand Canyon, Kentucky, Marquette (host), Northern Illinois, Northwestern, SMU, St. John's, UCLA, USF and Wisconsin.

The Erin Hills Intercollegiate takes place at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wisconsin, a par-72 course that is scheduled to host the 2017 U.S. Open. After opening in 2006, Erin Hills Golf Course was ranked No. 10 in Golf Digest's latest list of America's 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses and served as the site of the 111th U.S. Amateur Championship in 2011.
