Danaejah Grant Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

QUEENS, N.Y. - After leading her team to a season-opening win on the road against Yale, junior guard Danaejah Grant has been named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, it was announced by the league on Monday morning.
Grant, a Piscataway, N.J., native finished with a career-high 30 points, converting on 14 of her 26 attempts from the floor against the Bulldogs. Before Saturday, her career-best had been 21, accomplished during her freshman season at Clemson.
In addition to pouring in 30 points, Grant also added four rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal. She also surrendered only one turnover in 38 minutes of action.
Grant's 30 points are the highest total from a BIG EAST player so far this season.
Grant and the Red Storm will return to action on Thursday night, hosting Florida at 7 p.m. in Carnesecca Arena. In addition to being the home-opener, Thursday will also serve as the team's Military Appreciation Night, featuring a halftime ceremony with members of the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
