QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior attackman Colin Keegan was named to his first BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of the season and second of his career on Monday following an eight-point week for the Red Storm over spring break.
Keegan kick started a two-game spring break swing for St. John's by tallying a season-high six points on a hat trick of both goals and assists in the Red Storm's 16-11 defeat at No. 17/18 Drexel on March 4. The senior recorded a point in every quarter and scored in the last three stanzas in Philadelphia, Pa., in leading a second-half comeback bid that would ultimately fall short. Keegan wrapped up his week by scoring two more goals in St. John's loss to No. 11/9 Syracuse in the inaugural Cobb County Classic in Kennesaw, Ga., on March 8.
Keegan, a native of Springfield, Pa., has tallied 14 points thus far this season on 10 goals and four assists to go with five groundballs.
St. John's, receiving votes in both national polls, returns to Queens to open its BIG EAST Conference slate on Saturday, March 15 when Georgetown enters DaSilva Memorial Field for a 1 p.m. contest.
