Red Storm Set To Compete In NCAA Auburn Regional

AUBURN, Ala. - After solidifying its postseason berth with the 2014 BIG EAST Championship title, the St. John's men's golf team will head to Auburn, Alabama, to compete in the 2014 NCAA Regional on May 15-17.
The Red Storm earned the 13th seed in the 14-team field, joining defending national champion Alabama as well as Virginia Tech, Texas, Auburn, New Mexico, BYU, Kennesaw State, Colorado, Louisville, UNCG, UC Davis, Sam Houston and Alabama State.
St. John's will be led by the 2014 BIG EAST Player of the Year Ryan McCormick who takes a 73.21 career stroke average into the three-day event.
The NCAA Regional consists of a three-day, 54-hole tournament held at the Auburn University Club, an 18-hole, 7,326-yard championship golf course specifically designed for NCAA tournaments. The top five teams from each of the six regional sites will advance to the NCAA Championship held on May 23-28.
