Wachowicz Receives Second BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Mention

QUEENS, N.Y. - Senior Aleksandra Wachowicz was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second-consecutive week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. In a 3-1 week for St. John's (11-4), Wachowicz recorded 4.53 kills per set with a .316 attacking percentage. She registered 12 kills in a midweek sweep of La Salle before posting her first double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 digs in a straight-sets victory against North Dakota State at the Towson Tiger Invitational Friday morning.
Later that evening, Wachowicz had a match-high 24 kills on a .314 percentage in a thrilling 3-2 victory against Kent State. She also added four digs, and two service aces.
The native of Legionowo, Poland, finished the weekend with a team-high 20 kills and a .366 hitting percentage in a losing effort to host-school Towson. She also chipped in seven digs and three service aces. Wachowicz was named to the All-Tournament Team after racking up 4.67 kills per set and a .320 attacking percentage. She also added five service aces during the tournament.
This is the second time this season and fifth time in her career that Wachowicz has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
