St. John's Readies for Rutgers Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. - Coming off a victory in a dual match against Hofstra on Oct. 8, the St. John's women's golf team looks for another strong outing this time in Piscataway, N.J., as the Red Storm tees off on Oct. 16 at the Rutgers Invitational. Tee times are set to begin Friday at 7:45 a.m.
Team-captain Anna Kim will lead the charge for St. John's. The senior from Toronto is playing exceptional golf as she secured one of the three points at Hofstra and also earned a second place finish at the Bucknell Invitational.
Saskia Sterud will hold the No. 2 spot for St. John's followed by Kirsty Beckwith, Lindsey Oliva and Lydia Kim.
Before taking care of business against the Pride, Sterud registered back-to-back top-30 finishes in the first two tournaments of the season.
Beckwith also picked up her first point as a member of the Johnnies, defeating Hofstra's Jai Ghuman in the process.
About the Event:
The 54-hole event will take place over the course of two days with the first two rounds set for the first day (Oct. 16) at the 6,041-yard, Rutgers University Golf Course.
The field consists of 10 teams: Brown, Dartmouth, Delaware, Fairleigh Dickinson, James Madison, LIU Brooklyn, Rutgers, St. John's and Xavier.
LIU Brooklyn will look to defend its title as the Blackbirds beat Rutgers by a single stroke a year ago.
