Red Storm Downs Penn, 5-2

Philadelphia, Pa. -- The St. John's men's tennis team earned its eleventh victory on the season on Wednesday night in a 5-2 win against Penn.

The Red Storm took the lead early and entered singles matches up 1-0. The team continued its dominance to take three of the first four singles matches and clinch the win.

Vaidik Munshaw earned the first singles point for the Red Storm in the fifth flight, a straight-set victory, 6-2, 7-5. His teammate, senior Erick Reyes followed with another straight-set win, to put the Red Storm up 3-1.

Sophomore Robert Livi clinched the match in the third singles flight with a straight-set victory, 7-5, 6-3.

The Red Storm sits at 11-8 on the season as it heads to Chicago to finish up the regular season schedule against DePaul. The last time the two teams met was last year in the BIG EAST Championship, where the Red Storm claimed the 4-1 victory to earn the conference title.
