QUEENS, N.Y. -- St. John's men golf head coach Mal Galletta has announced the spring portion of the schedule for the 2015-16 season. The Red Storm will compete in six tournaments before the BIG EAST Championship in May.
The spring season opens in Goodyear, Ariz., on Feb. 28 as St. John's competes in the three-day Loyola Intercollegiate on the Palm Valley Golf Course.
"I really like the way the spring schedule sets up," Galletta said. "We start in Arizona for a three day tournament ending on March 1st. Hopefully, when we return, we get some good weather so we can stay outdoors and get ready for a busy stretch of tournaments from late March to late April."
After a month off, the Red Storm heads to the White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa., to compete in the Wildcat Invitational on March 28-29.
St. John's then tees off at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md., as part of the Towson Spring Invitational (April 2-3).
The Johnnies will travel to New Haven, Conn., on April 16 to compete at the Yale Invitational.
The Red Storm will then make its way up to North Kingston, R.I., and play on the Quidnessett Golf Course for the Rhode Island Invitational (April 18-19).
The final regular-season tournament is the Navy Spring Invitational (April 23-24) and it will take place at the Naval Academy Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.
"As a young team, we will gain some valuable tournament experience heading into the Big East Championship in early May," Galletta added.
This season's BIG EAST Tournament will be held over three days on May 1-3 at the Callawassie Island Golf Course in Callawassie, S.C.
